Vandra Pentecost is a conceptual figurative painter inspired by comparative religion, world culture and the subtleties and sensuality of the human spirit. In 2014 she received the Indianapolis Art Center's Skip McKinney Faculty of the Year Fellowship award of $20,000 which enabled her to expand her figurative exploration through a variety of workshops in drawing, painting and sculpture with national and international artists.
She is a member of the Indiana Artists Club, Portfolio, Hoosier Salon, and the Indianapolis Art Center where she was the Drawing and Painting Department Head from 2011-2013. She continues as an instructor of painting and drawing and monitors several open studio life drawing classes weekly.
Vandra is co-owner of Linder Design, a husband and wife team, specializing in large-scale public and private murals, illustration, graphic design and non-electric signage. In 2008, she was the creative director and technical consultant for the Lilly Day of Service Mural Project, working with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and Eli Lilly in partnership with Manual High School students to create 5 murals on the Monon Trail and 3 murals along Madison Avenue. The 1,230' wall received the Guinness World Record for the longest paint by number mural.
